My First Seven Dog Months...

Every puppy starts their paw steps somewhere, I started mine in a small town called Seri Kembangan. Hi, I'm Rei, I'm a female beagle, with a daring personality and an adventurous heart. I had 2 brothers, one with a normal beagle's trait and another with lemon color. I was the head of our young pack, until one day, a fat guy and his girlfriend came to pay us a visit. They left and came back about an hour later, giving a few pieces of paper to my owner and took me away from my family. I was 1 month old.

Me and my owner (around 1-2 months)

For the first time in my life, I rode on a car, the fat guy's girlfriend would comfort me while I still struggled in the shoe box they had put me in. Half an hour later, I reach a new house, one that I would call my home for the future being. They settled me down in a new cage, with some food and water, where I would sit and starting howling due to loneliness (being away from my family, not good at all). I just had to be out, being in a dark cage wasn't nice at all. I was walking around the new house, smelling everything in sight, until I fell asleep on the floor, next thing I know, I woke up in the cage, no one in sight, and I started howling again, annoying isn't it? That was Day 1. The fat guy, my new owner, would let me sleep in his bedroom, giving me the privilege and pleasure to waking him up everything 2 hours in the middle of the night, to play with me. He would wake up, take a toy, stuck it to my mouth so that I'd play with it, then stroke my head to my back and fall asleep, and I'd repeat the whole thing again 2 hours later. That went on for a week. Until he cleared up his storeroom, and that became my bedroom until today. Every month for the next 3 months, I would go back to meet up with my previous owner and my brothers for our vaccination shots.

I learned not to howl ever since, instead I'd just try to claw my way out of the cage, which usually didn't work. My owner, trying very hard to get the beagle characteristic out of me, have been trying to teach me tricks and tries to train me to be patient. The first trick I would learn was to sit with two legs ("sit"), sit with four legs ("down"), raise up my paw on to his hand ("hand") and wait ("stay"). Usually these trainings would take place before my meals, which is kinda a pain in my ass I guess sometimes. Oh yeah, nearly forgot, the more difficult trick until now would be to roll over ("roll"). I have no idea what use that would do, but whatever, as long as there's food to my mouth. Before every meal, my owner would let me stare at my food for a while before letting me eat, though torturous at times, it does really help with my patience and obedience, I started out with 10 seconds while I was around 2 months old, then 20 seconds, then 30, then 1 minute, then 3 minutes, later it was 5 minutes until recently sometimes I'd need to wait 10 minutes. Another trick I'd learn would be to fetch, though I don't think I mastered it yet, I always needed to fight with my owner to get the toy out of my mouth :P

One morning, I mean early early in the morning, my owner woke me up to go for a ride, what the hell? We reached a jungle, while I was thinking this was it for me, they're gonna throw me away in the middle of no where in the middle of the night, I'm done for..... next thing I know, I'm climbing a hill with a bunch of humans, though dark I can still see everything around me, but these humans were lousy, one or two of them couldn't even continue climbing, jamming the whole line of people. However, realizing I wasn't abandoned, but was brought here to exercise, we reached one of the peaks of the hill, being satisfied, we went home and in the process I even successfully tracked the route we took going up, not bad for a hound eh? hehe...

I started going to obedience school when I was around 6 months old, and for the past three weeks, I've learned how to walk with my owner ("heel"), though my owner brings me for walks and jogs, but I tend to walk or jog faster than him (no wonder he's fat), but after the school, I learned how to walk with him instead of pulling him, which is quite delightful actually, I tend to obey him more lately.

There's one thing I do hate, is to get wet! Every week my stupid owner would drag me to the water, putting on some shampoo (the smell is nice though), but still, I don't like getting wet... Isn't there just any other way?...

So for the past 7 months, It has been eating, sleeping and training for me, I haven't really started any adventures yet, except for the time hiking a hill. I hope to say more, but maybe next time, now I'm on my way to destroying some of my owner's stuff, wakakaka >:)
